Alexander P. Dottavio, age 90 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Hospice Care Center.
He was born December 2, 1926, in Massillon the son of the late Allasandro and Louise (Lilli) Dottavio.
He was a veteran of the Army.
Alex retired in 1982 from Ford Motor Company after 34 years of service. 
He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was an usher and adult server; and a member of the Knights of Columbus #554 - 3rd Degree. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and woodworker.
Alex is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joanne (Makowski) Dottavio; two daughters, Cindy Carder, Julie Harwig; son, Steve (Christine) Dottavio; grandchildren, Heather Woods-Nay (Chris), Brigitt Dottavio, Emily (Kevin) Crofford, and Stephanie Dottavio.
He was preceded in death by six brothers; three sisters; daughter, Nancy Dottavio; and son-in-law, Alonzo Carder.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 AM with Rev. Raymond Paul celebrant.
Burial to follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Massillon.
