Barbara A. Nixon, age 81 formerly of Perry Twp. , passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center.
She was born January 13, 1936, in Akron the daughter of Frank and Maria (Wilson) Lorenz.
Barbara retired from  Altercare of Navarre, Massillon Community Hospital and Doctors Hospital after she was an RN for many years of service. 
She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Barbara is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Nixon.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4940 Tuscarawas St W, Canton, OH 44708 on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10:30am with Rev. David Weikart celebrant.
Her final resting place will be at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
