Welcome to the memorial page for

Georgia Ann (Ramphos) Wacker

October 16, 1928 ~ October 24, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Georgia (Trikilas) Wacker, age 89, went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Georgia was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania but lived most of her life in Canton, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony G. Ramphos and Margaret (Selogy) Ramphos, her husband, Melvin Wacker, and her children’s father, Louis Trikilas.
Georgia graduated from Timken Vocational High School majoring in cosmetology and worked in the field for 15 years.  In 1966, she was hired by Canton City Schools (Summit) in the Learning Resource Center as Librarian and became the “the story lady”.
Georgia was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church where she sang in the choir for many years.  She was also active in the Philoptohos Society, Senior Citizens Group, the Greek Summerfest, rummage sales, and craft shows.
On December 12, 1987, she married Melvin Wacker and they enjoyed 16 years of marriage until his death in 2003.  They traveled extensively visiting every state and many countries abroad.
She is survived by her four children, Margaret (Jim) Stafford, Sam (Deb) Trikilas, Catherine (Tom) Addessi, and Anthony Trikilas; her brother Nick (Eros) Ramphos, their children Anthony (Mara) Ramphos and son Nicholas, Dina (Jason) DiDonato and son Alexander and daughter Emily.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael Bollman (Teresa), Christina Bollman, Joshua Addessi, Nathaniel Addessi, Andrew Addessi, Cassie Howington, and great-grandson Henry Aku Itali.
She is also survived by Melvin’s family, Bud and Bonnie Maier, their children and grandchildren; and Dana Dawson, a special lady that was like a daughter to her.  Dana was her hairdresser for 15 years and made her feel beautiful every day.  She even meticulously styled her chemo wigs later on and helped her feel beautiful even on the worst days.  Dana’s children, Kale and Kayne, were like her grandchildren and will always hold a special place in her heart.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 to 11:00 on Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church located at 251 - 25th Street NW, Canton, Ohio 44708, with a service to follow at 11 A.M. by the Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas.  Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Haralambos Philoptohos Society.  Condolences may be offered on the Heitger Funeral Home website at www.heitger.com.
