Margaret "Ginny" (Roberts) Mendlein

Margaret “Ginny” Mendlein, age 96 of Massillon, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville.
She was born January 15, 1921, in Leipsic the daughter of the late William and Katherine (Lonnemann) Roberts.
Ginny retired from  Stark County Head Start after 15 years of service where she was secretary to the director, previously having worked for the US War Department. 
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary Alter Rosary Society, and a volunteer at the Massillon Museum.
Ginny is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Susan Mendlein of Cincinnati, daughter, Mary Mendlein of  Calif., daughter, Maureen Stoller of Massillon, six grandchildren, Eric (Colleen), Lauren, Alexandra, Alyssa, Anna, and Christopher; and two great-grandchildren, R. J. and Cameron Stoller; brother, Donald Roberts; sister, Jane (Harry) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James  C. Mendlein; son, James M. of Atlanta; six brothers, Paul, Calvin, James, Charles, Jack, and Alvin.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon at 11 AM with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.
Calling hours will be held at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, from 9:30am to 10:45am prior to the service on Friday.  
Burial to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
