It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother Catherine Ann McNamara, our Meme, affectionately known as Kay to many.  With her usual grace and style she passed away peacefully on April 10th 2018.  She was born May 24th 1925 to Robert Wesley and Anne Pearl Drennen Wilson in Youngstown, Ohio.  Kay was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School, Sullins Junior College, Bristol, Virginia and Ohio Wesleyan University.
She married her beloved husband Edward “Eddie” on September 23, 1950.  They would move to Canton raise three children and spend 47 wonderful years together. Kay devoted much of her life to volunteering and serving in various groups and organizations throughout the community.  She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority , New Neighbors , Canton Junior Woman’s Club  The Junior League, Timken Mercy Service League, The Canton Symphony, The Monnet Club, Line and Design Garden Club, the list is endlist.  She was a past member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and Brookside Country Club.
Kay will always be remembered for her love of her Irish heritage, pansy flowers,  anything pink,  sunning at the beach and of course everything chocolate.  There wasn’t a holiday she didn’t celebrate and her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren with whom she instilled her love of family and traditions.
Preceded in death by her husband Edward L. McNamara on July 28, 1997.  She is survived by her daughter Mary Catherine Murphy (Joe), Sons Robert  McNamara(Debra) and Ed McNamara.  Her adored loving grandchildren Michael, Patrick, Haydan and Owen Murphy, Patrick McNamara, Molly (Louie) Doenges, and Katie (Preston) Newbold.
Private family services have taken place and she has returned home to her treasured Niles, Ohio and laid to rest in Niles City Cemetery.
