Suzi:
I know how much you will miss your dad as many of us will .
I have fond memories of your dad, my Uncle Bob! The times he took me skiing and camping on the Ohio River have become legend. Growing up I looked forward to the days he would stop at our 8th Street home to lift weights with me and I so enjoyed the many holidays our families celebrated together. Going to the Massillon football games with him was special too. And who can forget him keeping the tradition alive by baking Grandma Eckroate's cinnamon cakes? I feel extremely fortunate to have called him my uncle.
He will always be a part of my best childhood memories. I hope you can find comfort in knowing he brought so much joy and was so loved!

With deepest sympathy and much love,
John, Kris, Claire and Grace

Uncle Bob was a kind and considerate man with a wonderfully ornery smile. I will always remember the many many celebrations/parties/cookouts/and playing cards at my house, and just sitting outside on warm summer evenings talking, laughing, and sharing stories including those about WHS tiger football games. Uncle Bob also recited from memory a prayer from the Eagles Club that included the line "we must all go before the throne of God" - so may you rest in peace in the arms of our Lord with your parents and mine. Love and miss you all.

Uncle Bob was a strong and determined man, as all the Eckroate men were/are. He will be greatly missed. I will cherish the memories of the many Christmas Eves and other gatherings shared with Bob. Always filled with laughter, great conversation and corny jokes. The summer vacations and boating on the Ohio River are a couple more great memories. Uncle Bob will always be credited with teaching me how to water ski on Lake Erie at Mari Dor beach!!! Great times and memories. Rest in eternal peace Uncle Bob surrounded by Grandpa, Grandma and Dad. Love You!
