Albert William Dottavio, age 90, of Massillon died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Hospitality House.
He was born June 19, 1922, the son of the late Alexander and Louise (Lill) Dottavio.
Albert was an Army WWII veteran serving in Philippines, he participated at the landing of Mindanao earning the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze battle star, bronze service arrowhead, and Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with one bronze battle star.
He retired from Republic Steel/LTV Steel Enduro Division after 43 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and K of C Council 554 - 3rd Degree. He loved being around his family and pet dogs always enjoying a good meal at a family gathering.
Albert is survived by Wife, Margaret Dottavio; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Susan Dottavio, Michael and Deborah Dottavio, Philip and Becky Dottavio; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Billy Robey ; brother, Alex Dottavio all of Massillon; sister, Carmey Williams of Alliance; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Matthew Dottavio; brothers, Mid, Joe, Tony, Dominic, and John Dottavio; and sisters, Lena and Splendor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.
Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Massillon, Ohio.
