On Sunday, February 5, 2023, Alice H. Paul, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away. Alice was born in Massillon, OH  to Louis and Helen (Pflug) Hammer.  She was the youngest of four children.

Alice graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1947.  She was a proud 3 year member of the Massillon Tiger Swing Band playing trumpet.  She was also a majorette.  She worked at the JC Penney Company in both Massillon and at Mellet Mall in Canton for 12 plus years.

She married Andrew Paul, her high school sweetheart, January 21, 1950.  They enjoyed 72 years together until his passing on July 5, 2022.

Alice enjoyed golf, quilting and baking/decorating cakes.   She was a very talented musician, not only playing the trumpet but also enjoyed playing the piano.  She shared her love of music with her family and friends whenever she had the opportunity.

She was a 50 year member of Christian Mother's, a member of the St. Mary's choir, St. Michael's hand bells, den mother, and a much loved volunteer at House of Loretto.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Andy, parents, brothers Bob, Don and sister Mary Lou.  She is survived by her children, Richard (Kathy) Paul, Rebecca (John) Nussbaumer, Mary (Bob) Zwisler, Amy (Doug) Schiefer, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Canton on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at 11 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the church prior to the mass from  9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Her final place of rest will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
