Angelo "Sonny" Sciortino, age 77 of Surprise, Arizona, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016.
He was born December 30, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late John and Louise (Micheli) Sciortino.
Sonny was a Navy veteran serving during Vietnam Era.
He retired from the Massillon Police Department in 1994 where he was a patrolman for 10 years. Previously he had been a Teamster Truck Driver for Consolidated Freightways and Ray Molder, Canton.
He was a Charter member of Vietnam Vets of Western Stark County Chapter 646; life member of Henderson Lodge F.O.P. #105; Stark County Gun Collectors; and enjoyed fishing.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marjorie "Margie" (Dietz) Sciortino; sons, Steven (Crystal) Sciortino, John Sciortino, Matthew Sciortino all of Massillon; daughters, Anita (Wesley) Yoder of Beach City, Lori Doxsee of AZ; sister, Angeline Avolio of Pittsburgh; ten grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St. NE at 11am.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 9am to 11am.

Burial to follow the funeral at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon with military honors.
