Obituary

Anna Elizabeth Parr Scourfield, age 97, of Massillon died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Legends Care Center.

She was born October 23, 1914, in Massillon, the daughter of the late John H. and Emma (Hug) Bamberger.

Ann was a graduate of Washington High School, Notre Dame College, and The Ohio State University.

Ann retired from Massillon City Schools in 1976, where she was a math teacher for both Longfellow and Washington High School and taught at St. John's in Canton.

She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, where she volunteered many hours at St. Barbara's School Library and was involved with Bible Studies; a member of Massillon Woman's Club, Canton College Club and a volunteer with the Red Cross.

Ann is survived by son, John (Joan) Parr of Massillon; daughter, Lou Ann (Scourfield) Manwaring of Jackson Twp., Mary (Parr) Casari of Rochester, MN; special friend and neighbor, Donna Cerreta; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, A. Clyde Scourfield; brother, Walter Bamberger; daughter, Anita Kind; sons-in-law, Richard Casari and Bob Manwaring.

Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Heitger Funeral Service - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE, with a prayer vigil service at 4:45PM.

Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 2813 Lincoln Way West, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Cebula celebrant.

Burial at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery.
