Anthony Sacco, 1929-2017 age 88, of Massillon, passed away at the Laurels on Monday, July 3, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born April 8, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Nancy (Potento) and Daniel Sacco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sarah (Mazza) Sacco; and siblings: Patsy Sacco, Millie Sacco, Daniel Sacco, and John Sacco.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Leah Sacco, sons, Anthony (Jane) Sacco, Richard (Kathy) Sacco, Art (Sharon) Geis, Dave (Jane) Geis; grandchildren, Anthony (Rachel) Sacco, Nicki (Nicholas) Sacco Chacon, Sarah Geis, Morgan Geis, Megan Stinchcomb, Santina and Angelina Sacco; and great-grandchildren, Carter and Lyla Sacco and Francesca Chacon; brothers, Joseph Sacco and Valentino Sacco and many other family and friends.
He loved art, woodworking, architecture, and traveling. He was a brick mason and helped to build a lot of houses and buildings in the local area. He served in the US Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was a great husband, dad, and grandpa and was cherished and loved by his whole family and will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, Friday, July 7 from 10 AM to 10:45AM followed immediately by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 11AM with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.
Burial to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
The Sacco and Geis families would like to thank the staff at the Laurels of Massillon, Affinity Hospital, and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care and support provided to Tony and the family during this difficult time.
