Brian “Pops” C. Finnicum Sr., age 84 of Canton passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Aultman Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by his children.

He was born July 6, 1942 in Canton.

He was a Marine veteran serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Massillon VFW Post 3124, and the McKinley Eagles #2370.

Brian was an avid sports fan of the Massillon Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and The Cleveland Browns and Guardians. He enjoyed gambling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Carla (Lori) Finnicum, Brian (Amy) Finnicum, Chris (Michelle) Finnicum; sister, Jill Finnicum; grandchildren, Joey (Rachel) Stoffer, Amber (Eric) Homberger, Lauren (Pat) Parker, Brenden (Nick) Finnicum, Caden Finnicum, Cruz Finnicum; great-grandchildren, Peyton Parker, Preston Parker, Paxton Parker, Peyson Parker, Paislyn Parker, Nash Stoffer, and one great-grandchild on the way; and his loving dog, Buttons.

He was preceded in death by wife, Linda Finnicum; father, Carl Finnicum; mother, Margaret “Peg” Henning; step father, Fred Henning; brother, Gary “Mooney” Finnicum; daughter, Lynn Finnicum.

A private graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors.
