Carla (Charlotte) L. Belt, 87, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022. She was born August 24, 1935 in Fairmont, West Virginia. She played field hockey at Fairmont State College and always had an abundance of energy! Starting out as a PhysEd Teacher at Middle Branch then becoming a house wife & mother, at 60 yrs old she started Charlie Courier Service which was very successful for 25years! Carla never met a stranger and was always the first to volunteer. She was a founding member of Church of the Lakes, of Hill Field Garden Club and was always very involved in Project St. Nicholas. She was a mom first and foremost to her 3 daughters but also to many others. She loved life to the fullest and never wasted a moment. She loved her family & friends, her garden and her pool but she had a big soft spot for the beach! Carla is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack (John) Belt. Daughters, Jan (Tim) Rausch, Julie (Eric) Smolenski and Jodi Belt. Grandchildren, Alexandra & Adam Rausch, Madeline, Megan & Jack Smolenski. Sister, Debbie Cattafesta of Fairmont. Nieces/nephews, Cathy Corral & daughter Rachel, John Corral, Jay T., Lisa & Tai Cattafesta, JoHanna Dean, Kelly Kaye Kisner & Mahlon Kisner and Kim & Jill Kisner. Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Mahlon S. & Mary Louise Kisner and her brother, Mahlon Clark Kisner. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Heitger Funeral Home, Jackson Chapel. 5850 Wales Ave NW, Massillon, Ohio at 4pm with the Rev. Bryan George officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 1-4pm.
