Our cherished aunt, Carol J. Lair, of Canton, passed away on December 6, 2024, following a lengthy illness. Most will remember Carol for her wonderful sense of humor and her infectious laugh. Her family will remember her nurturing nature, her unending generosity, and her unabashed love for dogs. A true animal lover, Carol had 3 West Highland terriers that she adored during her life, all named Piper.

Carol was born in 1938 in Massillon, Ohio. She graduated from Washington High School in 1956 and soon after began her career as a secretary at Peoples Federal bank in Massillon. Carol was an early glass-ceiling breaker. She ultimately became a branch manager of the Canal Fulton and west side branches of Peoples Federal.

Carol is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the U.S. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father, Verna and Leo Denenzio, her brother, Donald, and her sister, Josephine (Jones), all of Massillon.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a service to celebrate Carol's life on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 12 p.m. at the Massillon Chapel of Heitger Funeral Home, 639 1st St. NE. Donations can be made in Carol's honor to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach Street, Louisville, Ohio 44641.
