Carolyn  Louise Shankle, age 77, of Jackson Twp., and formerly of the Outer Banks, N.C., passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at Aultman Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born January 11, 1948, in Newton, WV, the daughter of the late Oval and Mary Ann (Clark) Moss. Carolyn was a beautician and more recently administrative assistant before retiring in 2002. Carolyn is survived by the love of her life, David M. Shankle, her husband of 57 years; daughter and son-in-law, Suzette and Doug Schuller;  grandchildren, Michael (Angelena) Schuller, Amanda (Justin) Rorrer, and Kaitlin Schuller. She joins her beloved dog, Brutus, now. Carolyn was also an avid artist, creating paintings and painted clocks of beach scenes to share with family and friends. The beach was Carolyn's favorite place to be, and many memories were made with her family on the shores of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL, 5850 Wales Ave. NW, Massillon.
