IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles "Roger"
Mendenhall
February 1, 1941 – May 31, 2024
Charles "Roger" Mendenhall, age 83, of Massillon, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024. He was born February 1, 1941, in Marietta, Ohio, the son of the late Homer and Margaret (Knowlton) Mendenhall. Roger was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam Era. He retired from St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company after 30 years of service. He was a longtime member and a former president of the Akron Claims Association. Roger is survived by his wife of 59 years, "Lenita" (Farlow) Mendenhall; sons, Rod Mendenhall, Clint Mendenhall, and Rock Mendenhall; sister, Karen Emerson; granddaughters, Jenna Mendenhall and Aurora Mendenhall. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother. Roger was a positive example, especially in the last few years, to fight through multiple ailments and challenges and to keep pushing, living, and remain a strong husband, father, and friend to all he encountered. He kept on teaching us life lessons all the way until his transition and he will be dearly missed. We are comforted by his example, the memories, love, and laughs we experienced with him. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11:30 A.M., at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon. Burial to follow the service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville at 1:45 P.M. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1016 W Jackson Blvd. #1073, Chicago, IL, 60607. https://www.mda.org.
