Obituary

Charles "Ed" Orr, age 96, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at his home in Massillon.

Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille Orr; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lester and Kay Orr, Chester and Kathy Orr; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Shane Midcap, Kristie and Brian Jacobeen; sister, Florence Wilson; grandchildren, Ryan, Erick, Heath, Ashley, Matthew, Luke, Leslie, Rhonda, Nicole, Melinda, Justin, Shane, Anna, and Emily; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Effie Orr; son, Timothy Allen Orr; brothers, Urban and Walton Orr; sisters, Alta Archer, Ethyl Sickafoose, and Melba Haines.

Cpl. Charles served in World War II with the Third Artillery Observation Battalion in the United States Army during the period from June 1941 - May 1945. He served in Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Germany and Austria.

He retired from Timken Company in 1978 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed his garden and taking care of his family.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Heitger Funeral Service - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE, at 12 PM with Rev. Edward Gretchko officiating.

Calling hours will be held two hours prior to the service from 10am-12pm on Tuesday.

Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in North Canton, with military honors.
