Obituary

Charles E. Schott, age 94 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Amherst Meadows. He was born April 18, 1930, in Canton the son of the late Elmer and Anna (Kachler) Schott. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Charles retired from Simetco Inc. formerly Ohio Ferro - Alloys Corp after 40 years of service where he was a former treasurer, secretary, and vice president. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Campus and Legion of Mary. Charles is survived by his children, Michael Schott, Matthew Schott, Lora "Jane" (Jerry) Mann; two sisters, Mary Burrell, Christine Miller; and five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Francis Schott; sisters, Eleanor Toussant and Catherine Horansky. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11 AM at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Campus, 206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, Ohio with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant. Burial to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Devine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Campus, 2809 Lincoln Way NW, Massillon, OH  44647.
