Damon "Barry" Wilbanks, age 78 of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Compassionate Care Center following an extended illness.

Rest in peace with the Angels.

He was born in Canton, Ohio on June 3, 1936, son of the late Damon B. and Margean L. (Cochran) Wilbanks.

Barry was a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, formerly I.D.S.  He formerly worked in the advertising department at the Repository.  He was a member of Elks and an avid golfer and bowler.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jacqueline "Jaci" (Dillon) Wilbanks  of Canton, sons Bret D. (Cathy) Wilbanks of NY, Brad Wilbanks of NY, grandchildren, Deanna Wilbanks, Bryan Wilbanks, Elizabeth Wilbanks, Joshua Wilbanks and James Wilbanks, great-graddaughter Adelynn Wilbanks, and kitty/doggie Dad to to his beloved dogs and kitties, and a friend to many.

According to Barry's wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
