Daniel M. Bell, age 83 of Jackson Township, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Rose Lane Care Facility. He was born June 19, 1941, in Milwaukee the son of the late Donald and Elise (Bossort) Bell. Dan graduated from Indiana University School of Business. He was an Army veteran and also served in the Army National Guard of Wisconsin and South Dakota. Dan married the love of his life, Nancy, in Watertown, SD in 1970 and were married for 52 years. Dan worked for 30 years at Sears Roebuck & Co moving several times before settling in Jackson Township retiring in 1995. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Campus, Sears Retiree Club, and was a volunteer for more than 20 years at The House of Loreto. He was an avid reader, excellent letter writer, and loved to garden. Dan is survived by two sons, Andrew Charles Bell, Anthony John (Kathy) Bell; Daughter, Jennie Marie (James) Fetter; grandchildren, Claire, Ethan, James, Henry, Gracen, Andrew; brothers-in-law, Killian "Kelly" G. (Carole), Mathias "Matt" (Kelly), David "Dave" (Sue) Stricherz; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Pete) Evanson, Luvina "Vina" (Jim) Clendenin; sisters-in-law, Fe and Bev; numerous nieces and nephews. And special friends for more than 50 years, Richard and Dottie Halle of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Helen (Stricherz) Bell, two brothers, Thomas and James (Marlene) Bell; brother-in-law, Richard Stricherz; sister-in-law, Janice Stricherz. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary Campus, 206 Cherry Rd. NE at 11:00 am with Very Rev. John E. Sheridan, J.C.L., V.F. officiating. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, Massillon, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Visitation will also be held at Wight Comes and Sogn Funeral Home, 1111 Fourth St NE, Watertown, SD on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 1pm to 3pm and burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Watertown, SD with full military honors.
