Daniel James Maiorana Dan passed away 10/20/22 after a lengthy illness at age 31. He was born to Joe and Jeanette (Smith) Maiorana on March 12th, 1991. Dan graduated from Jackson High School in Massillon.  He then attended Kent State University and went on to graduate from Stark State College as an automotive technician. Dan enjoyed sports, especially basketball, as he followed the Cleveland Cavaliers.  He was also a fan of the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed the outdoors bicycling, fishing, and kayaking. Dan was a history fan as he enjoyed reading and watching various shows regarding US and world history.  He was an avid reader of science fiction. He was a frequent concert goer as he attended various alternative rock concerts. Dan is survived by his loving parents and brother Zachary Maiorana as well as his best buddy Zoey or "Dog" as he affectionately called her.  His grandfather Jim Smith.   Aunt Christine Smith and Uncle Steve Smith (Sharon Flowe) along with his cousin Taryn Smith.  Aunt Julie (Maiorana) and Uncle Joe Petrecca along with cousins Vincent, Michael, and Maria Petrecca.  His long-time friend Kirk Spuhler of Jackson Township. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents Edna "Tyke" Smith, Joe and Laura Maiorana. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in tribute to Dan. Calling hours will be held on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2022 from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W. Memorial Service will follow beginning at 1 P.M.
