Daniel J. Weitz Sr., age 85 of North Canton, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at home surrounded by family.
He was born March 10, 1936, in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Franklin and Helen (Conroy) Weitz.
He was an Army veteran and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Daniel is survived by wife of 63 years, Fujiko Weitz; four children, Helen (Don) Mull, Daniel (Pam) Weitz Jr., Geraldine Weitz (Tom Maday), and Nancy Weitz; grandchildren, Tyler, Alexandra (Andrew), Cody, Beau, Danielle (Colin), Cole, Leo, Paige, and Sophie; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Eliza, Theodore; siblings, Kathleen, Helen (Stephen), Gerard (Cheri); brother-in-law, Robert; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Annabelle and four siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 241 S. Main St, North Canton at 10am with Rev. John Keehner celebrant.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, Massillon, from 6pm to 8pm.
Burial to follow the service at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in North Canton with Military Honors.
