Darlene Raines went to be with our Lord on August 6th, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.  Darlene fought a courageous fight against her battle with cancer.
Darlene loved her family more than her life itself, sharing her passion for life, the arts, gardening, the importance of family, with her children and grandchildren.  Her joy for life could be witnessed by the light in her incredible blue eyes and beautiful smile. Darlene was a wonderful mother and grandmother, anyone that knew her loved her.
Darlene enjoyed traveling with her sister, Rosemary and her great friends.  She also enjoyed traveling and dancing with her special friend, Martin Pertican. Darlene retired from Mercy Medical Center after 30 some years of service.
Darlene leaves behind two daughters, Jamie Prokopchuk (Thomas Prokopchuk), Robin Hoskins and son Vincent Raines. Her beloved sister, Rosemary Richeson, Jim Norris (Dee Norris), David Norris, John Norris (Linda Norris) and her late brother, Jack Norris (Barbara Norris).  Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nephew, nieces and cousins.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Norris and Wilda Norris-White, both from Woodsfield, later making their home in Canton, OH.  Her first husband, James Woods and her second husband, Vince Raines.
Service for Darlene will be at Dueber Methodist Church, 645 Dueber Ave SW, Canton, OH 44706, on Monday August 11th, at 5:30pm with Revs. Chet Harris and Chad Anderson officiating.  Friends and family may visit during calling hours beginning at 4:30pm.  Burial service will be held Tuesday, August 12th at noon at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Woodsfield, OH.
In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in a donation box at the Dueber Church for the family.
