Dayton C. Walters "Calhoune", 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 5, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward S. and Susie E. Walters, and his sons, David E. Walters and Jeff G. Bann.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda K. Walters, his daughter, Carolyn Hogue (Robert), and his five grandchildren, Jeanette Mann (Thomas), Jacob Hogue (Monica), Eddie Walters (Jessica), Aaron and Gary Bann.

He is also survived by his six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Tanner Mann, William Hogue, and David, Conner, and Hailey Walters; and his two great-great-grandsons, Theodore Mann and Truett Mann.

Dayton is a respected member of the Canton Amateur Slow Pitch and Fumbleball Hall of Fame. He is also recognized as one of Stark County's Player of the Year.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date.
