Dennis L. Bordenkircher, age 86 of Massillon, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at home surrounded by family following a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was born April 17, 1935, in Akron the son of the late Sylvester and Garnet (Mills) Bordenkircher. Denny served in the Army. Denny was a Lieutenant for the Akron City Fire Department and retired in April of 1991 after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  He enjoyed golfing, handball, fishing, and jogging. Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane (Kovac) Bordenkircher; Son, Eric Bordenkircher; daughter, Erin (Richard) Roberts; grandchildren, Erica, Nia, Kaya, Richie, Christopher, Faith; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Dawson, and Lincoln; brother, Kenny Bordenkircher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon from 5PM to 6PM.  The Last Alarm Ceremony will be held at 6 P.M.  The Memorial Service will follow beginning at 6:15 PM with Rev. Edward Gretchko officiating. His final resting place will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
