Obituary

Dewey VanHoose III, age 52, died Monday, December 5, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born July 16, 1959 in Bellefontaine, Ohio and had lived in Jackson Twp. since 1981. He was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and Ohio University College of Business. He was a consultant and former President of Sky Bank.

Dewey was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton, and Brookside Country Club. He was a former member of Canton Jaycees, and was a former board member of both Canton Chamber of Commerce and Jackson Belden Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed sports of all kinds. He was a kind, loving, giving man, a beloved Dad and a friend to all.

Dewey treated everyone with dignity and will be greatly missed by his family and friends including his mother, Janet (Hoffman) VanHoose of Bellefontaine, son David E. VanHoose of Canton, daughter Audra R. VanHoose of Columbus, their mother Valli VanHoose of North Canton, step-son Jay Withee of Cleveland and step daughter Steffani Withee of Canton, former wife and friend Roseanna Pizzino of Jackson Twp., brothers Raymond VanHoose of Calif. and Corey (Renae) VanHoose of Zanesfield, sister Tammy (David) Overholser of Bellefontaine, and friends Ron and Ruthanne Wilkof who were especially close to him.

He was preceded in death by his father Dewey VanHoose Jr. and brother Timothy.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel with Rev. Doug Patton officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 A.M. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Dewey's honor to a scholorship fund for a Bellefontaine senior to attend Ohio University, the school that Dewey cherished.
