Donald F. Balow, age 82, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Don was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 26, 1940 to Henry and Martha (Plotzka) Balow. He graduated from Grosse Pointe High School and then from the University of Detroit. He retired from Republic Steel after a lengthy career in Sales of over 30 years. Don had a deep love for his family and his home state of Michigan. He could still quote his address of his family home on Cadillac Avenue like it was yesterday. Don could usually be found outside doing yard work or listening to his favorite music. He was a devout catholic and regular parishioner of St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton. Don resided in Jackson Township for 36 years.

Don was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Colette. He is survived by his sons Chris Balow, Jeff (Karen) Balow and daughters Julie (Mike) Pitz and Sara (Bryan) Gliba; his brother David (Barbara) Balow; and his grandchildren Katelyn, Evan, Ryan, Madison, Matthew, Marcus & Michael.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8 2023 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave., N.W., Massillon, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton.

Condolences may be made on our tribute wall.

Burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
