Donald Bergmeyer, age 79 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Rose Lane Care Facility. He was born September 17, 1938, in Canton  the son of the late Earl and Helen (Rohr) Bergmeyer. Donald retired from Goodyear where he was a compound engineer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a life member of the NRA.  He was an avid hunter and a life long racing fan. Donald is survived by three son, Donald (Roslyn) Bergmeyer, Randy Bergmeyer,  Mathew Bergmeyer; grandchildren, Brittany Bergmeyer, and Andrew Baldwin (his mother, Lynn Baldwin); Brother, Jerry (Cathy) Bergmeyer; sister, Patricia Jekubik; sister-in-law, Susan Kraus, and former daughter-in-law Lisa who was very close to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl (Kraus) Bergmeyer; brothers, David and James Bergmeyer. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2017 at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE  from 5 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018  at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel, at 11 AM. Burial to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
