Donald J Kassner, age 81, of Massillon died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.

He was born August 20, 1934, the son of the late Joseph Kassner and Mary (Petrina) Kassner.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Massillon; Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree and volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul food cupboard.  Don enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb with flowers. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and was a great cook. He loved all his furry friends and said they were his angels. His family was of utmost importance and brought him tremendous joy.

Donald is survived by his wife Susan (Miller) Kassner, daughter, Dr. Deborah Kassner (Dr. David Laycock); sons, Kevin (Sheila) Kassner, Randy Kassner and Chris (Stephanie) Kassner; brother, Kenneth Kassner (Eleanor); sisters, Jeanette Coppersmith, Frances Kassner, Joyce Fox and Pat Grimm; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Kassner.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 9:30 to 11AM at St. Paul's Church 127 Cherry Rd. N.E., Massillon followed by Memorial Mass at 11 A.M. with Fr. Edward Gretchko, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery

In lieu of flowers contribution/donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, St. Mary's, 726 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio  44646.
