Donald A. Schott, 89, beloved husband and wonderful father passed away on May 27, 2014 after a lengthy illness.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Schott, sisters-in-law Kate Frank and Betty Schott, brothers-in-law Loren Frank, Robert Coulter and Jerry Frease, also son-in-law Mike Dunn.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rosemary "His Rose" (Sibila), four daughters Nancy Dunn, Jane (Michael) Viront, Linda Hintz, Julia Schott, three granddaughters Lindsay, Jennifer, Jessica, four grandsons, Tim, Ben, Keith, Brad, six great grandchildren, brothers Kenneth and Richard Schott, sister Mary Alice Tabeling and so many other family and friends.

Donald proudly served in the Navy during World War II.  He was a master plumber working out of Local Union 94, retiring at age 62 so he and Rose could enjoy their love of life and traveling.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Massillon all of his life.

Donald was a member of the K of C Council #554 3rd Degree serving in their soup kitchen and working Bingo nights for many years.  He had also volunteered at the library and Habitat for Humanity.

Calling hours to be held at Heitger Funeral Home – Massillon Chapel 639 First St., Massillon, Ohio 44646 on Friday, May 30th , 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. with a K of C service beginning at 6 P.M.

A funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 10 A.M. at  St. Mary's Church, 206 Cherry Rd., N.E., Massillon, Ohio  with burial following in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Church of Massillon, Veterans of Canton or charity of your choice.
