Dr. Louis Paskoff, age 80,passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at Altercare of Nobles Pond.

He was born October 5, 1931 in Massillon, and was son of the late Lambi and Fanny (Vasel) Paskoff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Paskoff who died Feb. 25, 2001.

Dr. Paskoff was a professor of Literature at Kent State University and retired in 2000. He was a graduate of Kent State University and received his masters and doctorate degrees from the University of Michigan. He was the first program director at WKSU and was a published author. He enjoyed movies, classical music and art.

He is survived by sister-in-law Barbara Paskoff of Massillon, three nephews and their spouses, David and Wendy Paskoff and their daughters Fiona and Sabrina of Seattle, WA, Scott and Carol Paskoff and their daughter Rhiley of North Canton, and Chris and Tracy Paskoff of Washington, DC.

Funeral service for Dr. Paskoff will be officiated by Chaplin Bill Eshelman and held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave N.W., Massillon, 44646. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroad Hospice Charitable Foundation, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive Suite E., Green, Ohio, 44685.
