IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Duane H.
Bricker, Dvm
January 6, 1931 – November 16, 2024
Duane's Obituary
Dr. Duane H. Bricker, DVM, age 93, of Jackson Twp., Stark County, OH, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Our loss is of great measure.
He was born January 6, 1931, in Canal Fulton, OH, and grew up on the Bricker Farm in Jackson Twp.
Dr. Bricker graduated from Jackson High School in 1948. He was accepted into The Ohio State University on a Dairy Technology Scholarship. He graduated with his Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine. He started Fulton Animal Hospital in Canal Fulton, OH with some assistance from his then-wife Kathleen George in 1956. He pioneered the first Emergency Animal Hospitals in the area, along with other veterinarians, in the early 1970s. The hospitals were a success. He was active in his communities participating in clubs and other organizations.
Along with his brother-in-law, Dr. Bricker developed and built Wood Moor Estates
in Jackson Twp., Stark County, OH.
Dr. Bricker (Duane) semi-retired to Gold Canyon, AZ on Kings Ranch with his wife Genevieve (Kalos) in 1980. There he worked part-time as a veterinarian and artist, where he won ribbons for his paintings until retiring. Duane contributed both cover artwork and articles for Superstition Magazine. He backed his wife Genevieve, President of the ADOBE Association, for which they collaborated on writing articles for 18+ years. Duane also provided artwork and comics for the ADOBE monthly newsletter. Duane spearheaded bringing city water to Kings Ranch by gathering county, city, and political officials of Pinal County, AZ, motivating them to see his vision through. It was a remarkable achievement. Duane traveled the world with his wife until she passed away in 2020. He then moved back to Massillon, OH in 2021.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Ling Bricker;
daughter and son-in-law, Elaine (Bricker) and Mark Wolfenden; daughter and son-in-law, Yvette Williams and Mark Avsec; daughter, Stephanie Williams; sister, Arlene Seifert; six grandchildren; & his dog, Happy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen (Grimminger) Bricker; his wife, Genevieve (Kalos) Bricker; daughter, Valerie (Williams) Timinsky; and his sister, Beverly Schreck.
The world was a better place due to having Dr. Duane Bricker in it. We will miss his strength, support, and sometimes playful character.
