Earl Francis Scheetz, age 84 of Massillon, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Altercare of Louisville.

He was born May 10, 1931, in North Canton, the son of the late Edward and Myrtle (Demuesy) Scheetz. Earl graduated from Canal Fulton High School.

He retired in 1994 from A.J. Diana Company after 27 years of service as a mechanic. He also worked at Famers Supply, and was bus driver for Herman Transit.  Earl was also a Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fireman for many years.

Earl was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Association.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, and 2 brothers.

He is survived by seven step-children; John, Helen, Kate, Bernard, Rosemary, Joan and Tim, 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Heitger Funeral Home – Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE from 6 to 8pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, at 10am with Rev. Raymond Paul celebrant.

Burial to follow at Brookfield Cemetery, in Massillon.
