Edith Mae Switzer, age 92 of Jackson Twp., passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012. She was born in Frackville, PA, on December 8, 1919 and was daughter of the late Joseph and Anne Gough. She was a retired realtor and homebuilder in the Akron area. She was a member of Christ Methodist Church in Akron, Akron Board of Realtors, past president of Akron Women's Board of Realtors and Ohio Women's Board of Realtors.

She is survived by son John (Nancy Grimes) Switzer of Massillon, daughters Janet (Charles) Williams of Lexington, Ohio, Glenna (Skip) Rea of Massillon and Linda (Dan) Detwiler of Scio, Ohio, sister-in-law Catherine Workman of Westfield Center, grandchildren Jeff (Brenda) Rea, Krista Rea, Mike Gray, Laurie (Dean) Pahdopony, Steve Gray, Wayne Williams, Stacie (Mike Ruth) Switzer, Jared Grimes, Heidi (Ben) Krieger, Jodi (Steve) Sivon, Brad (Carlla) Detwiler, and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn G. Switzer who died Nov. 6, 2008, brothers Joseph, Bill and Edward Gough, sister Della Holman, and grandson Matt (Bo) Switzer .

Memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Rivertree Christian Church, 7373 Portage St. N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646 with Pastor Greg Nettle officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the church from 4 to 7 P.M. and on Friday from 10:30 to 11 prior to the service.
