M. Edwina Neitz, age 89, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at her home.

She was born November 20, 1921 in Akron, the daughter of Edwin and Lena Thompson.

She served during WWII in the Army-Air Corp.

Edwina received a Master's Degree from Case Western Reserve University.

She was a nurse working at Aultman, Mt. Sinai, Akron Children's, and Akron City Hospital. She was a volunteer at Massillon Public Library and with the Arthritis Foundation.

Edwina is survived by daughter, Pamela M. Neitz; son, William H. Neitz; brother, Richard T. Thompson; sister, Barbara Summers; four grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 1 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Heitger Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Heitger Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel, at 11:00 AM with Rev William R. Wendell officiating.

Burial at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon.
