Elizabeth "Kate" Kenna-Scott, age 61, of Jackson Twp., passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Compassionate Care Center following an extended illness. She was born March 30, 1963, in Goldsboro, N.C., the daughter of the late Patrick and Loretta (Chaytor) Kenna. Kate was a graduate of Akron University. She is a veteran of both the U.S. Army and was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.  She served in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. Kate was a registered nurse and had worked for Barberton Summa Hospital, Affinity Hospital and Altercare of Nobles Pond. She was a life member of the VFW Post #3124, American Legion Post #221 and the DAV Post #38. Kate is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Scott; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Debbie Kenna; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Mobley; and sister, Loretta "Anna" Kenna. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 First Street N.E. Massillon, from 10:30 AM to12PM. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12 PM with Fr. Michael Seifert officiating. Burial to follow the service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville with military honors.
