Elizabeth J. Tyson, age 72 of Massillon, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at Mercy Hospital with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.

She was born November 6, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Glad and Mary (Ferguson) King. Elizabeth was a 1967 graduate of West Muskingum High School.  She worked as a secretary for Ohio Power before deciding to be a stay at home mom.  She eventually returned to the workforce until the effects of the Multiple Sclerosis made her retire. She was a firm believer in Christ and a member of Jackson Friends Church.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother.  She also loved playing bingo and chatting with friends.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Stephanie Sanderson and Stephen Tyson; grandchildren, Nicole and Tristan Sanderson; sisters, Patricia (Bill) Weiser and Barbara  (Jeff) Cubbison, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 6 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon with Pastor David Tebbs officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 5 P.M.
