Flora E. Hall, age 88 of Massillon passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was born March 25, 1924 in Akron, Ohio and was daughter of the late Floyd C. and Flora (Vance) Estright.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, William Estright and sisters, Alma Cole, June Maynard and Eileen Heasley and friend, Helen Liggett.
Flora served her country during WWII and was a US Navy WAVE from 1944 through 1946. She was a Link Trainer Instructor and later an aviation machinst mate. While serving in the military she trained Boston Red Sox baseball legends, Ted Williams and Johnny Pesky and actor Tyrone Power. She became an avid Cleveland Indians Fan through her friendships with these players. Flora was also a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
She was retired from Republic Steel of Massillon and is a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church.
She is survived by a friend and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Barbara Catholic Church at 11 A.M. with Rev. Thomas Cebula celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Barbara Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Barbara Church.
