Foy M. Lower, age 88, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Altercare Of Navarre.

He was born in Millersburg on May 6, 1922 and was the son of the late Lloyd and Mary (Fett) Lower.

Foy retired in 1987 from Overhead Door Company where he had been a carpenter. He had been a member of Carpenters Union Local # 69 for over 50 years. He volunteered at Affinity Hospital and for Meals On Wheels.

Foy was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Lantern Square Dance Club, Friendly Squares Square Dance Club and enjoyed camping.

He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the U.S. Army.

Foy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hilda G. (Schotsch) Lower of Navarre, daughter Ann (Richard) Shetler of Navarre, sons Thomas (Pam) Lower of Columbus, Paul (Debbie) Lower of Dalton, two grandchildren Jennifer (Brian) Melegari of Navarre and David (Torina) Shetler of Richville and great-grandson Foy Shetler.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Service - MASSILLON CHAPEL, 639 First St. N.E., Massillon, 44646 with Rev. Chip Belanga and Chaplin Jim Scalf officiating. Burial will follow at Sixteen St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 9 to 11 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
