Frances M. Calhoun, age 88, formerly of Jackson Twp. and Navarre, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 8, 2012.

She was born in Cape Charles, Virginia on Feb 15, 1924, daughter of the late Burke D. and Alice (Rudy) Shaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years Frank C. Calhoun who died Feb. 4, 2009, two brothers and two sisters all of Virginia.

She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir, Cardinal Chapter of Sweet Adalines, and Lady Lions where she participated in Minstrel Shows. She enjoyed sewing, bowling and was past president of the Massillon Club.

Frances is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Pam Calhoun of Jackson Twp. and Jack and June Sorrells of Virginia Beach, VA, grandchildren Ashley (Jeric) Whittaker, Keith, David, Rebecca and Robert Calhoun and Kenny (Tina) Sorrells and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel from 6 to 8 P.M.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3955 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646 at 10 A.M. with Pastor Kenneth Fryman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lions Lincoln Theater, 156 Lincoln Way E., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
