Gail A. Woods, age 88, of Massillon, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025, with his family by his side.
He was born November 27, 1936, in Massillon  the son of the late Frank and Wilda Woods.
Gail retired from Massillon Lorin Andrews School where he taught Spanish for 34 years.  He was a coach and referee with the Massillon School System.  After retiring, he worked for Elum Music for over 10 years.
He was a member of Divine Mercy St. Mary Campus and St. Mary's Choir.
Gail is survived by son, Todd  Woods and daughter-in-law, Michelle  Fonner; grandchildren, Justin Woods, Matthew Woods, and Nathaniel Fonner; several great-grandchildren; and family friend, Melissa Zandt.
He was preceded in death by wife of 37 years, Joan (Ginther) Woods.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Mary's Campus at 11 A.M.
Burial to follow the service in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heitger Funeral Home towards expenses.

To hear her voice, to see her smile,

As in the days that used to be.
