Gary Lee Ballinger, 69 of Canton passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.

He was born November 29, 1945 in Burton, WV the son of the late John and June Ballinger.

Gary was an Army veteran serving during Vietnam.

He worked as a drug and alcohol counselor for 17 years. He was a long standing member of AA and touched many people's lives in a positive way.

He is survived by sister, Darlene Cross; son, Mark Ballinger; and many close friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Heitger Funeral Home – Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW from 6pm to 8pm.

His final resting place will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors on Monday, July 13 at 10:30am.
