Gary P. Swisher, age 61 of Massillon, passes away on Monday, March 28, 2016 following a brief illness.

He was the former owner of Swisher Automotive and currently maintenance superintendent for Perry Twp. Fire and Police.

Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie Swisher of Massillon; brothers, John (Cynthia) Swisher of Georgia, Tim (Chris) Swisher, and Mike Swisher all of Massillon; mother, Ocie Swisher of Brewster; nephews, Jason (Dawn) Swisher of Beach City, and D. Michael Swisher; and niece, Kaitlynn Swisher of Massillon; great-nephew and niece, John Michael and Brooke Swisher; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis D. Swisher who died in 2000 and sister, Jan Armstrong who died in 2010.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel,  5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon and on Friday, April 1,2016 from 1 to 2 P.M.  Service will follow and begin at 2 P.M.
