Genevieve S. Shark, age 90, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Laurels of Massillon surrounded by those who loved her. She was born April 11, 1930, in Charleroi, PA, the daughter of the late Mervin and Mary (Martinet) Spence.  She attended Charleroi High School where she was a majorette. She also attended California State University in Pennsylvania. Genevieve retired from Sears after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Columbian Ladies Guild, St. Mary's Cleaning Crew, she also volunteered at the Knights of Columbus and Massillon Hospital. She was a passionate gardener and loved her beautiful flowers, second only to her grandchildren. Genevieve is survived by daughter, Jane Allen; son, Timothy (Lori) Shark; and the grandchildren she adored, Eric Allen and Mary Beth Allen, and Timothy Shark and Taylor Shark. She was preceded in death by husband, George L. Shark, brothers, Raymond Spence and Jack Spence, sisters Naomi Lamb, Mary Lou Brown, and Linda Lee Jobes. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Her final resting place will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Massillon.
