George R. Wagner, age 89 of Massillon, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at Amherst Meadows. He was born January 23, 1935, in Canton, and attended Central Catholic High School. He graduated from Marquette University in 1957 and worked as a civil engineer for 50 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Triangle Fraternity; served as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau and a volunteer for Stark Parks Wildlife Conservation Center; he enjoyed model trains, cats, playing cards, pizza, making squirrel houses and his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother Adabelle Cecila (Deppish) and father Kenneth George Wagner.
George is survived by his wife, Marjorie "Midge" Wagner; children, Greg Wagner, Peter Wagner (Kim), and Monica Wirsing (Dean); 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Joseph Campus, 322 Third St. SE at 10:00 am with Very Rev. James E. Sheridan, J.C.L., V.F. officiating.
Entombment to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
