Gladys Marie Johnson, age 83, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at her residence in Massillon.

She was born July 25, 1928 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of the late Edward Alonzo and Nettie Belle (Barton) Melton.

Gladys is survived by her children, Nettie Belle (Clifford) Chandler, Georgia (Ken) Anthony, Debra (Mark) Marvin, William Palmer, Sandra (Gary) Puckett, Michael (Randy) Puckett, Toni Brooks (Philip), Mallana Johnson; brother, Marlin Melton of Wisconsin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many friends who loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvyn Johnson, many siblings and two grandsons.

As per her wishes no public services will be held.
