Glenn A. Maurer, age 66 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021. He was born August 25, 1955, in Massillon the son of the late Garland and Goldie (Devoll) Maurer. Glenn retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he was a supervisor for 30 years.  He was also a commercial truck driver for 14 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and watching birds. Glenn is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy M. (Halter) Maurer; sons Garland (Stormi) Maurer and Nicholas (Tara Reed) Maurer; daughter, Marie (Brad) Elder; step brother, Terry Thomas; grandchildren, Jonah, Luke, Nathan, Nolan and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Garland "Tuggy" Maurer. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel. Memorial service will follow beginning at 7 P.M. His final place of rest will be Brookfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.
