Obituary

Grace Irene Baker, or Gracie as she liked to be called, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 surrounded by her family.

She ws born July 5, 1927 in Massillon daughter of the late Peter and Vera Hartman.

Grace worked at the Enterprise during WWII and was a volunteer in the kitchen at the Massillon Moose and help serve at Superior Brand Meats' retirees and Teamsters luncheons.

Grace had a green thumb and enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening. She liked to feed the birds and had bird feeders all over the yard for the hummingbirds. She enjoyed painting, cooking and trying new recipes. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Ervin, every weekend to October Hills near Loudenville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ervin M. Baker who died in 2002, son David Baker who died in 2001, a brother Matthew and a sister Kathleen.

She is survived by sons Larry (Lisa) Baker, Brian (Gail) Baker, Raymond (Kathy) Baker and Randy (Kelly) Baker all of North Lawrence, daughter Betty (John) Covert, daughter-in-law Cheryl Baker both of Massillon, sister Ruth Davis of North Lawrence, brother Melvin Hartman of Massillon, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 5 P.M. at Epworth United Methodist Church Hall, 3061 lincoln Way W., Massillon, Ohio 44647.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tuslaw Community Group, P. O. Box 68, North Lawrence, Ohio 44666.
