Grace Olive Ertle, age 96, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Sterling House Assisted Living of Canton.
She was born December 7, 1918, in Doylestown the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Christina S. (Cutter) McCartney.
She graduated from Massillon City Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an RN at the hospital and retired from Union Drawn where she worked for 35 years.
Grace was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rosary Alter Society, and volunteered with the Knights of Columbus Soup Kitchen, St. Vincent de Paul, Nave Group, and Columbian Ladies Guild.
Grace is survived by three sons, Thomas D. (Denise) Ertle, John E. Ertle, Joseph P. (Pamela) Ertle all of Massillon; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Alvin L. Ertle (1985); five brothers; three sisters; daughter-in-law, Patricia Ertle.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 2 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heitger Funeral Service Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 10AM with Rev. .
Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Massillon.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 726 First St NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
