Grace Louise Widder, age 93 of Massillon, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at Aultman Hospital after a brief illness that resulted from a fall that developed into a severe brain hemorrhage.

She was born January 30, 1918, in Massillon the daughter of the late Rochester and Pauline (Reikowski) Lewis.

Grace was a 1936 graduate of Washington High School. In her early life she worked at Friegs Restaurant, Paul's Waffle Shop and Eaton Manufacturing. She then spent most of her life as a homemaker, where she enjoyed crocheting, quilt making, and gardening. In later years she spent many hours volunteering with Faith Lutheran Church's Sewing Circle. She and her husband were long time members of the Sons and Daughters of Herman, Massillon Lodge.

Grace is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Carol Kress of Massillon, step-son, Paul Widder of Massillon; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Arden Kress and Galen Widder; daughter, Joan Schaar, and sister, Ruth Brady Powell of Buckeye, AZ.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heitger Funeral Service - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, 107 6th St. S.W., Massillon at 2:00 PM with Rev. Herbert Garnes officiating.

Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery, in Massillon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
